How IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback Helps the Brain Find Its Way Back to Calm

IASIS Micro Current Neurofeedback

A gentle nudge that helps your nervous system remember how to settle.

IASIS Micro Current Neurofeedback is an FDA-cleared, drug-free brainwave therapy. Sessions take about 20 minutes. Most patients feel a measurable shift within the first few visits.

How it works

A whisper of current. A reset.

IASIS delivers a tiny electrical signal — about a million times smaller than a 9-volt battery — through electrodes placed on the scalp. You feel nothing. Your brain notices the input, briefly interrupts its stuck patterns, and reorganizes toward a calmer, more flexible state.

BEFORE Stuck patterns, dysregulation micro-current pulse AFTER Flexible, regulated, calm
01
Tiny signal
Imperceptible micro-current (1–4 picoamps) delivered through scalp electrodes.
02
Brief interruption
The brain registers the input and momentarily steps out of its dominant pattern.
03
Self-correction
As it returns, it reorganizes toward a calmer, more flexible baseline.
What it helps

When the nervous system needs a way back.

IASIS is FDA-cleared for relaxation training. In clinical practice, patients report meaningful improvement across a range of brain-based and stress-related conditions — often when other approaches have stalled.

Anxiety & chronic stress
Depression & low mood
PTSD & trauma response
Insomnia & sleep disruption
ADHD & focus difficulties
Migraine & chronic pain
Post-concussion & TBI
Brain fog & long COVID
What a session feels like

Quiet. Brief. Often, nothing at all.

You're awake, comfortable, and clothed throughout. The current is below the threshold of sensation — most people don't feel the treatment itself. What they feel comes after.

MIN 0–5
Settle in
Small sensor pads placed on scalp.
MIN 5–20
Treatment
Sit, breathe, or rest with eyes closed.

Pads off. Resume your day normally.
HOURS–DAYS
Notice
Calmer mood, deeper sleep, clearer thinking.
Investment

Most patients see meaningful change in 10 sessions.

A typical course of care is 10 to 20 sessions, scheduled one to two times per week. The package gives you 11 sessions for the price of 10 — most people choose this once they've had a session or two and felt the shift.

Single session
$250
A single 20-minute treatment. Best for trying it or supplementing your protocol.
Common questions

What people ask before their first visit.

Is IASIS safe?
IASIS is FDA-cleared for relaxation training and muscle re-education. The current delivered is roughly one-millionth the strength of a 9-volt battery — far too small to feel and well below the threshold of any tissue effect. There are no known serious adverse effects. Mild, transient effects like temporary fatigue or vivid dreams in the first few sessions are uncommon and resolve quickly.
How is this different from traditional neurofeedback?
Traditional EEG biofeedback asks you to actively change your brainwaves while watching a screen — it takes 40+ sessions and requires patient effort. IASIS is passive. You don't have to do anything. The micro-current itself prompts the reorganization. Most patients respond in 10 to 20 sessions rather than 40 to 80.
How quickly will I notice anything?
Roughly 70 to 80 percent of patients notice a shift within the first one to three sessions — usually in sleep quality, baseline anxiety, or mental clarity. Some changes are subtle at first ("I didn't react to that the way I normally would") and accumulate over the series. A small percentage of patients are non-responders, which we'll know within four to six sessions.
Can I keep taking my medications?
Yes. IASIS does not interact with medications. That said, as your nervous system regulates, some patients find they need less of certain medications over time — particularly sleep aids and anxiolytics. Any medication changes should be discussed with your prescribing provider, and we're happy to coordinate.
Who shouldn't use IASIS?
IASIS is not appropriate for patients with implanted electrical devices such as pacemakers, deep brain stimulators, or vagal nerve stimulators. It is safe during pregnancy. A brief screening at your consultation will rule out any contraindications for your situation.

Ready to see if IASIS is right for you?

A brief consultation — in person or by phone — is the simplest next step. We'll go over your history, answer questions, and see if this fits your situation.
