ACID-BASE BALANCE

The body is constantly trying to achieve balance or homeostasis. This is achieved through a very complex biochemical process through various biofeedback systems involving multiple organ systems. The body is constantly trying to achieve a pH balance of 7.35-7.45. Unfortunately, many factors lead to a situation where the body can become predominantly acidic (Saliva pH < 6.3, Urine pH <6.7). These factors may include dehydration, mineral imbalance, excess caffeine, excess protein, lack of green veggies, constipation, infections, WiFi stress, structural stress, and chronic pain. We know that most chronic diseases occur in an acidic state. THEREFORE, THE OVERALL GOAL IS TO GET THE BODY INTO MORE OF AN ALKALINE STATE. Although everyone is different, I suggest consuming more green veggies and less sugars, carbs, and meats. A list of alkaline/acid foods is contained in the attached. I recommend purchasing some Ph paper strips and testing your saliva and urine pH for those who want to track your acidity level.  This will give us an idea of how acidic/alkaline you are. NOTE: Drinking alkaline water is only MINIMALLY effective in the long run. If you consume alkaline water, it is best to drink it BETWEEN meals to avoid diluting the stomach acid.
